Ben's Blurb - Saturday Fishin'

This morning started incredibly early. Like 2 am early. My Dad and I decided to go fishing today, so that involved me getting to Hillsboro at 3:30 am. Now, my plan was to get up at 2:45 am and head to Hillsboro. Unfortunately, those of you that know me, know that I have this disorder where I always wake up before my alarm. So there I was, wide awake at 2 am - so I just decided to get up. I'm a freak, I know it.

We had a pretty good day. The weather cooperated and we were on the water by 5 am. We caught about 20 fish before calling it quits.

The sport of fishing doesn't run through my veins like it does the rest of the Whitaker family (Andrea excluded), but I still had a good time. It was fun to get out and hang with Dad for a while.

Ben's Blurb - Kremlin Night

The tradition continues. It seems that about every other month, we meet to see who can overthrow the Russian Dictatorship. It's a good time with great friends. This time was at the Whitaker house. We added an extra element by having some authentic Russian tunes playing in the background. I would like to point out that the bottles in the background, are RootBeer bottles. Just to eliminate any confusion. :)
Ian Strauss was the Party Chief at the end of the game, so he was the big winner of the night. He was able to claim victory over Matt, John, and myself.

There will be a next time though. My time is coming - I can feel it..

Photo Shoot with Mindy

We got to have our family photos taken with Mindy this week. She is such a talented photographer and I love her creativity. We had so much fun with her gallivanting around Sherwood. Ideally we would like to have family photos done once a year in the future. So that in 10 years we can look back and see how hot and young we look now! You can see a sneak peak on her blog here. We can't wait to see the rest of the photos.
p.s. Mindy also deserves credit for our engagement photo pictured to the right

Another Running Accomplishment

I ran my first (and maybe my last) 10k! I actually ran for 3 minutes and walked for 1 minute the whole distance, but I finished and it felt pretty good. It started and finished at Bridgeport Village and there were lots of festivites around. My friend Rachelle, and Linus from my Weight Watcher group ran with me and we all finished together in 1 hour and 11 minutes. I even walked away with a $25 gift certificate to the Container Store. I'm glad I went through with it even though I was nervous I wouldn't be able to go that far!
